Despite the sheer volume of images and the speed a Despite the sheer volume of images and the speed at which we produce and consume them every day, there must be still room to pause, look, and preserve the moments that truly matter. So let us celebrate the daguerreotype, developed by Louis Daguerre and first presented publicly to the world on this day in 1839.
The installation I presented in Lisbon in January The installation I presented in Lisbon in January 2025 opened with this image of Mount Fuji, taken through the window of a commercial plane on my flight back from Tokyo. I recently came across a film of photographer @ragnaraxelsson taking aerial photographs over the Katla glacier in Iceland, while actually flying the aircraft himself :) What a legend.

Back in 2005, all we had was an American Express g Back in 2005, all we had was an American Express guide and a map. There were no smartphones and no internet in our pockets. It was also the first of many journeys I would take with Ricardo Henriques @semfiltro. I carried my first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 4500, alongside a Nikon F80. We crossed Morocco from north to south and returned along the Atlantic coast. More than twenty years later, I found myself back in Fez, a city I remembered above all for its extraordinary medina: intense, chaotic and demanding. A place, where interacting with merchants was an essential part of the experience. This time, I found a different Fez. Many younger shopkeepers now spend more time on their phones, (just like people everywhere else in the world), and their approach is less persistent. Yet despite these changes, the city has not lost its soul. ☀️ #fes #morroco
